Kirk Cousins, Washington hit roadblock in contract talks

The franchise tag for Cousins would cost $20 million for a one-year contract. Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports has reported that the two sides are “nowhere near” agreement.Washington and quarterback Kirk Cousins reportedly have broken off negotiations on a new deal. The question is whether Cousins’s breakout 2015 season predictive of what is to come, or is he more likely to regress and become the latest Redskins failure at quarterback? A franchise designation would prevent Cousins from being a free agent but means Washington must pay him about $20 million in 2016.
