With a weak lead-in among other problems, Peacock didn't give medical drama much of a chance

Although it's actually NBC's strongest show on Mondays, the network decided it had enough of "Trauma," allowing it to finish out its current run by the end of the year.

The show, which starred the likes of Anastasia Griffith, Derek Luke, Aimee Garcia and Cliff Curtis, averaged a 3.7 rating/6 share in average overnights from The Nielsen Co. after five episodes. That was a 7.5 percent decline from what "Chuck" averaged in that timeslot the year before.

Speaking of "Chuck," NBC decided to add six more episodes to its third season order, with the chance it could move its premiere up to January instead of March, likely taking the timeslot it once held as a lead-out from "Heroes," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There wasn't much happening on NBC's schedule this year, especially Mondays. Although it grew "Heroes'" audience by about 3 percent, the Peacock was averaging a 3.9/6 on Mondays for its non-news, non-event shows. That was well behind the 11.4/17 ABC is averaging on Mondays so far behind "Dancing With the Stars," but even behind the 7.1/11 from CBS and the 4.2/6 from "Fox," which has a mismatched pairing of "House" and "Lie to Me."

Last week, against reruns, "Trauma" did grow its audience by about 9 percent, but was still 16 percent off its already weak series premiere.
